TW Medical Veterinary Supply
Named One of Fastest Growing Companies in U.S.
(October 15, 2001 - AUSTIN, Texas) –TW Medical Veterinary Supply, a leading distributor of veterinary supplies, is one of America’s 100 fastest growing private companies, according to Inc magazine’s annual ranking released this week.
TW Medical Veterinary Supply ranked #82 on the Inc 500 based on a 2,638 percent sales growth in the past five years. Sales increased from $479,000 in 1996, to $13,115,000 in 2000. The company serves more than 1,200 veterinary clinics, zoos, universities and research facilities with a full line of veterinary pharmaceuticals, surgical supplies and equipment. The company distributes over 6,500 animal health products from leading manufacturers to customers throughout the U.S. and in 13 countries worldwide.
Started in 1982, Inc 500 ranks the nation’s leading entrepreneurial companies according to sales growth over the previous five years. Former Inc 500 companies that have gone on to become household names include Microsoft, Timberland, Domino’s Pizza and Patagonia. To be eligible for this year’s Inc 500, companies had to be independent and privately held through 2000, have at least $200,000 in sales in the base year of 1996, and their 2000 sales had to have exceeded 1999 sales.
“It is very exciting and rewarding to be included in Inc magazine’s prestigious ranking,” said Genae Girard, CEO of TW Medical. “We have worked hard to build a strong organization of top quality people in order to provide our customers with exceptional service, and the marketplace is clearly responding to that.”
California is once again home to the greatest number of Inc 500 businesses this year (59), followed by New York (33) and Texas (29).
“The Inc 500 gives America a window on the future – which companies will be the Microsofts and Timberlands of tomorrow,” said George Gendron, Inc editor-in-chief. “The economy may have slowed, but entrepreneurial enterprises have always been, and will continue to be, the nation’s foremost engine of growth and job creation.”
