Starts 2009 with Strong Performance

(May 15, 2009 - AUSTIN, Texas) – Despite the economic downturn, Austin-based TW Medical Veterinary Supply has continued its multi-year uninterrupted track record of steady performance into 2009, with strong first quarter financial results announced today.
For the three-month period of January - March 2009, TW Medical posted $7.4 million in net sales, an increase of 20.9% over the same period a year ago and a $1.3 million jump from the first quarter 2007.

The quarter-end also marks the one-year anniversary of TW Medical’s acquisition by Lextron Inc.  Lextron is a leading distributor of animal health products in both the production animal and companion animal markets.  Lextron was incorporated in 1967 and today its over 650 employees provide a comprehensive range of animal health products to customers in different animal health market segments, including over 4,900 small and mixed animal practices across the country.

As a wholly-owned Lextron subsidiary, TW Medical and its 34-member sales force focus exclusively on the companion animal market segment. TW Medical Veterinary Supply serves more than 1,600 veterinary clinics, zoos, universities and research facilities with a full line of veterinary pharmaceuticals, surgical supplies and equipment. The company distributes more than 6,500 animal health products from leading manufacturers to customers throughout the U.S.
